Newborn album design software that stays quiet

Newborn work is delicate by nature. The editing is careful, the images are tender, and the album should feel calm rather than busy. Software that fights you, or pushes loud multi-image layouts, works against the very thing the photographs are doing.

Cuppafolio is newborn album design software built to stay out of the way. Gentle, generous templates give images room to breathe, smart snapping keeps the few elements on each page perfectly placed, and the export is a print-ready PDF you own and print with the fine-art lab you trust.

Let the image carry the page

The strongest newborn spreads are usually the simplest: one quiet image, a lot of space, perfect placement. Cuppafolio's templates lean that way by default, and snapping makes single-image and minimal pages sit exactly where they should without manual nudging.

When the album is finished, one export gives you a press-ready PDF with the colour and detail intact, ready for a fine-art album lab.

An open album spread with a single quiet image
The Cuppafolio way

A focused tool that does the album job brilliantly.

Everything you need for the album, nothing you don't, and the finished file is always yours.

Built for the single image

Generous, restrained spreads.

A template set with full-bleed single-image pages, generous white space and quiet pairings — designed for the way newborn images actually want to sit on a page, not retrofitted from wedding-day densities.

True-to-edit colour

Skin tones as you graded them.

Exports run at 300 DPI in sRGB with embedded fonts — the spec the fine-art labs newborn photographers favour actually expect. No surprise colour shift between the edit and the printed page.

Print-ready PDF

300 DPI. 3 mm bleed. Yours.

One click and a press-ready PDF lands in your downloads: 300 DPI, sRGB, embedded fonts, optional crop marks. No watermark, no expiry, no per-album unlock fee.

Flat pricing

One monthly price. No per-album fees.

From £19/month. Design as many albums as your plan allows for the same price every month, with no surprise charge when a busy season hits.

The problem

Newborn design is its own discipline

The album step should be the fun part. Too often the tooling gets in the way.

Layout tools built for high-density wedding spreads, forced onto quiet single-image work

Lab proofs where the colour drifts because the editor used a colour space the lab does not honour

Project files trapped on the studio machine when sessions span weeks of edits and re-edits

What sets us apart

The difference is in what we deliberately leave out.

A narrow tool, an honest deal, and a file that is genuinely yours.

Smart guides do the fiddly part

Guides snap to bleed, gutter, centre and neighbouring photos, so spreads stay aligned and balanced without endless pixel-nudging.

You own the export

Every album leaves as a print-ready PDF with no watermark and no per-album unlock fee. It is a real deliverable you keep, not a file held hostage.

Any lab, no markup

We do not print or fulfil anything. Your PDF goes to the album supplier you already trust, with no print margin quietly skimmed along the way.

What a strong newborn album needs

Newborn albums are premium, low-volume products where print quality is everything: skin tones have to be true and detail has to survive the press.

Cuppafolio exports at 300 DPI in sRGB with embedded fonts and proper bleed, so the printed album matches the screen you graded on.

  • Generous single-image and minimal templates

Questions

Good questions, straight answers.

Will skin tones print as I edited them?

Cuppafolio exports at 300 DPI in sRGB with embedded fonts and an embedded colour profile — the spec every fine-art newborn lab expects. If your edit looks correct on a colour-managed monitor, the printed page will follow. A single test album the first time you use any new lab is always sensible.

Are the templates actually suited to single-image newborn work?

Yes. The template library includes full-bleed single-image spreads, generous-margin singles and quiet two-image pairings — the layout language newborn work uses — rather than dense multi-image grids built for wedding-day densities.

Can I re-open an album weeks later for a small parent tweak?

Projects live in your account, so an album from six weeks ago opens on the same machine or any other — the studio iMac, the laptop you happen to have on you. Newborn work tends to come back for small tweaks, and the project is always exactly where you left it.

Which newborn-friendly album labs work with the exported PDF?

Cuppafolio is not a print lab and does not bundle a supplier, so the PDF goes to whichever lab you already use — UK fine-art labs, US heritage suppliers, European bookbinders. The 300 DPI sRGB spec works across all of them.

Is per-album pricing going to bite on low-volume newborn work?

No. Cuppafolio is flat monthly from £19 (Solo), £39 (Studio) and £79 (Agency), with no per-album fees inside your plan's allowance. Three newborn albums one month and one the next costs the same — useful when the unit margin is the whole game.

Does it handle quiet, single-image spreads well?

Yes. Minimal layouts are a core part of the template set, and snapping makes precise single-image placement effortless, which suits newborn work particularly well.

Will skin tones print accurately?

Exports are 300 DPI in sRGB with embedded fonts and correct bleed, the standard fine-art album labs expect. You can run a real export during the trial and proof it with your lab.
