The album step deserves its own tool
ShootProof covers a lot of ground for a working studio: galleries, digitals and a print store. As with any broad platform, album design is a feature inside it rather than the whole point of it, and the finished album tends to live within the platform's own pipeline.
Cuppafolio is the album alternative for studios that want the design step to be fast and the output to be unambiguously theirs. Design in a focused browser editor, export a print-ready PDF you own, and print it with any lab. ShootProof can carry on doing everything else.
Why the design step deserves its own tool
The album step should be the fun part. Too often the tooling gets in the way.
General platforms treat album design as a side feature
Album fulfilment tied to the platform limits your lab choice
You want a fast, focused designer and a file you control
A focused tool that does the album job brilliantly.
Everything you need for the album, nothing you don't, and the finished file is always yours.
Fits your stack
Beside your tools, not on top.
Keep Pixieset, Pic-Time, ShootProof and HoneyBook exactly as they are. Cuppafolio handles the album job and hands you a finished PDF.
Smart templates
Designer spreads, ready to fill.
Start from a layout you love and drop in your selects. Smart guides snap to bleed, gutter, centre and neighbours, so every page is balanced, every time.
Print-ready PDF
300 DPI. 3 mm bleed. Yours.
One click and a press-ready PDF lands in your downloads: 300 DPI, sRGB, embedded fonts, optional crop marks. No watermark, no expiry, no per-album unlock fee.
Flat pricing
One monthly price. No per-album fees.
From £19/month. Design as many albums as your plan allows for the same price every month, with no surprise charge when a busy season hits.
Own the file, choose the lab
The single biggest difference photographers notice is ownership. A Cuppafolio export is a standard print-ready PDF that downloads to your machine and stays yours. There is no platform wrapper, no per-album unlock and no obligation to print where you designed.
That makes the album a true deliverable. Archive it, hand it to the client, or send it to the lab whose binding and paper you prefer.

Cuppafolio vs ShootProof (album design)
The honest differences that matter when you are choosing where to design your albums.
| Feature | Cuppafolio | ShootProof (album design) |
|---|---|---|
| Where you design | A dedicated album-design app that runs in its own browser tab beside ShootProof | Browser, inside the ShootProof gallery and store platform |
| Getting started | Sign in for the album step alone, with ShootProof's galleries and store flow untouched | Inside the ShootProof suite |
| Pricing model | Flat monthly album-design pricing that does not scale with image volume | Bundled or per-photo plans (check current pricing) |
| The finished file | Print-ready PDF you own and route to any premium album lab outside ShootProof | Album fulfilment within ShootProof's print store |
| Your existing stack | Sits beside ShootProof, never overlapping with its gallery or store features | All-in-one gallery, store and album |

Where Cuppafolio sits next to ShootProof
Cuppafolio is deliberately narrow. It does not deliver galleries, take payments or manage clients, so it never competes with ShootProof. It picks up exactly one job: turning your final selects into a designed, print-ready album.
Keep ShootProof for galleries, digital delivery and your print store. When the album is what is on your plate, open Cuppafolio, design it from designer templates with smart snapping, and export a PDF you own and send to any lab. Nothing about your existing setup has to change.
- Keep ShootProof exactly as it is today
- Bring final selects into Cuppafolio for the album step
- Export a print-ready PDF and send it to your album lab
- No migration, no integration to configure, no lock-in

The difference is in what we deliberately leave out.
A narrow tool, an honest deal, and a file that is genuinely yours.
You own the export
Every album leaves as a print-ready PDF with no watermark and no per-album unlock fee. It is a real deliverable you keep, not a file held hostage.
Any lab, no markup
We do not print or fulfil anything. Your PDF goes to the album supplier you already trust, with no print margin quietly skimmed along the way.
It does one job well
No gallery, no CRM, no store bolted on. A focused album designer that respects, rather than replaces, the tools you already pay for.
Album design that stands on its own
- ShootProof stays your gallery, proofing and print-store platform
- Cuppafolio becomes the dedicated album-design step the print store does not focus on
- Designer templates and smart snapping for printed albums specifically
- Print-ready PDF you own — ShootProof does not see the file, and neither do we after export
- Choose any premium album lab; ShootProof's bundled fulfilment stays for other products
- Flat monthly pricing decoupled from your ShootProof photo or contract volume
“We switched the whole studio over in a week. Everyone designs in the browser, the files are ours, and the bill is the same every month. Easy decision.”
Good questions, straight answers.
Why pull album design out of ShootProof if I'm already on the platform?
ShootProof's album product is part of its print-store suite — the lab and the fulfilment are part of the platform. Photographers who want a specific premium album lab (or a margin they keep) move the design step to a dedicated tool while leaving galleries, proofing and other print products on ShootProof.
Will Cuppafolio touch any of my ShootProof galleries or contracts?
No. Cuppafolio only does album design. Your ShootProof galleries, proofing flow, contracts and other print-store products keep running exactly as they do today; Cuppafolio just takes over the album-design step in between.
Do I still need to deliver albums through ShootProof's store?
No — that is the change. Once you design the album in Cuppafolio and export the PDF, you send it to whichever album lab you have chosen, and bill the client however you usually do for custom-quoted products. The album sale stops flowing through ShootProof's store; the rest of your products still do.
Is there a ShootProof integration?
No. Cuppafolio does not integrate with platforms by design — we do one job and stay narrow. Export your selects from ShootProof using its existing download flow, drag them into a Cuppafolio project, and design from there. Nothing to configure, nothing to break.
What does this cost me beyond ShootProof?
Cuppafolio is £19/month Solo, £39/month Studio, £79/month Agency, in addition to your ShootProof plan. For photographers selling premium albums regularly, the margin gain from choosing your own album lab usually offsets the Cuppafolio cost within a few albums per quarter.
What exactly do I get when I export?
A print-ready PDF at 300 DPI with 3 mm bleed, sRGB colour, embedded fonts and optional crop marks. No watermark, no per-album fee, and no requirement to print through us.
Can I keep ShootProof for galleries?
Yes, that is the intended setup. Keep ShootProof for galleries, digitals and store, and use Cuppafolio when the album is the job in front of you.
