Why per-album pricing works against you
Per-album or per-export pricing seems harmless until the work picks up. The model quietly charges you most exactly when you are busiest, turns every extra album into a cost calculation, and often hides a print markup inside fulfilment so your true margin is hard to see.
Cuppafolio is album design software with no per-album fees on purpose. It is one flat monthly price from £19. Design as many albums as your plan allows, export every one as a print-ready PDF you own, and print with any lab, because we never touch fulfilment or take a print margin.
The difference is in what we deliberately leave out.
A narrow tool, an honest deal, and a file that is genuinely yours.
One flat price
From £19 a month, busy season or quiet. No counting albums, no metered exports, nothing to reconcile at the end of the month.
Any lab, no markup
We do not print or fulfil anything. Your PDF goes to the album supplier you already trust, with no print margin quietly skimmed along the way.
You own the export
Every album leaves as a print-ready PDF with no watermark and no per-album unlock fee. It is a real deliverable you keep, not a file held hostage.
Predictable cost, visible margin
Flat pricing changes how you quote. With no per-album cost and no hidden print markup, the album price you give a client is the price that holds, and your margin is the simple difference between that and your chosen lab's cost.
It also rewards a good season instead of taxing it: the busiest months cost exactly the same as the quiet ones.

Per-album pricing punishes a good season
The album step should be the fun part. Too often the tooling gets in the way.
Every extra album quietly costs you more
Print markup baked into a margin you cannot see
Pricing you cannot cleanly pass on to clients
A focused tool that does the album job brilliantly.
Everything you need for the album, nothing you don't, and the finished file is always yours.
Flat pricing

“We switched the whole studio over in a week. Everyone designs in the browser, the files are ours, and the bill is the same every month. Easy decision.”
Good questions, straight answers.
How much does Cuppafolio cost?
Plans start at £19/month (Solo), £39/month (Studio) and £79/month (Agency), with two months free on annual billing. Every plan includes all templates and print-ready PDF export, and there are no per-album fees inside your plan's allowance.
How does flat pricing actually compare to per-album software?
Per-album software charges you again every album. Cuppafolio charges once a month, full stop. The cross-over point is low — typically 2–4 albums a month — after which flat pricing saves you money on every additional album you sell. Quiet months still cost the same, which is fair: you keep design access during them.
Are there hidden print markups?
No, because there is no Cuppafolio print fulfilment to hide a markup inside. The PDF you export goes to whichever album lab you already use, at whatever that lab charges you. Cuppafolio sees none of the lab transaction and takes none of the margin.
What is in 'per-album fees' on competitor tools?
On some album software you pay the subscription and then a separate fee per album exported or per album printed through the bundled lab. Cuppafolio has neither: the PDF export and the right to send it to any lab are part of the flat monthly plan, not unlockable upsells.
What counts toward my plan's allowance?
Plan allowances are based on active project count rather than per-album charges, so a busy month does not punish you. Specifics by plan: Solo (£19) covers a solo photographer's workload, Studio (£39) covers small-team studios with shared projects, Agency (£79) covers high-volume teams. See the pricing page for the current allowances.
Is there really no print markup?
Correct. Cuppafolio does not print or fulfil albums, so there is no print margin built into the price. You pay your chosen lab directly, at their cost.
